1. 什麼是美人魚運動？跟其他游泳方式有什麼分別？
美人魚運動需要穿上單蹼(Monofin)和色彩鮮艷的魚皮，利用身體有規律的擺動姿勢推進，而不是像自由潛水般以雙腳用力。所以美人魚不只是運動，亦是充滿美感的水中舞蹈。美人魚最重要之處是優美，線條要柔和，並不刻意追求速度和深度。妳可以忘記日常生活中的所有壓力，享受神奇的水底世界時光。

2. 誰可以參加MOP美人魚課程？
年齡分組：
A組：4-5歲
B組：6-8歲
C組：9-12歲

3. 我需要有潛水或游水經驗才能參加MOP美人魚課程嗎？
關於我們的小美人魚課程，小朋友不需要具備游泳經驗也可以參加。課程專為初學者設計，導師會提供專業的水中安全指導，並使用輔助工具幫助小朋友熟悉水性。若家長有興趣，亦可建議小朋友參加我們的游泳補課班，進一步提升水中技巧。 

4. 人魚尾巴是否包含在課程費用中？
小美人魚大賽訓練班免費提供參加者人魚單蹼及魚皮租借。
參加者可另行購買美人魚裝備作比賽用途。

 5. 美人魚運動需要在水中開眼嗎？
在練習的時候，參賽者必需要佩戴游泳鏡，讓他們能更專注於提升肢體的美態。比賽途中可自由選擇佩戴與否。在水裡不敢張開眼睛，多半是心理因素，因為不習慣眼睛進水，而且視線會模糊。我們會慢慢的引導你在水中張開雙眼，你會發現並沒有想像中的困難。

6. 小美人魚大賽提供拍攝服務嗎？
比賽期間將拍攝照片和影片。

 7. 請問上課地點是室內還是室外？
MOP美人魚水族館是室內的，具備過濾器及恆溫系統(~30 °C)，確保水質暖和及合符衛生。 

8. 我上課時有甚麼需要準備的？
請自備泳衣、毛巾及泳鏡，場地亦提供游泳鏡／潛水鏡租用。MOP場地具有淋浴間、洗頭水／沐浴露、洗手間及風筒使用。 

9. 你們賣魚尾巴嗎？

10. 如有私人原因未能夠出席課堂，我可以退款嗎？
參加者的申請一經接納，所有已繳交之學費恕不退回。
凡參加MOP舉辦之課程，每五堂只可免費更改日期一次，並需於預約日期時間7天或之前通知請假原因。如預約日期時間7天內要求更改日期，MOP集團會收取$600作行政費，並需要重新預約。以下例子不需預早通知：
a) 生病（至少4小時前通知及必須提供醫生證明）；
b) 白事（無需證明） 

11. 惡劣天氣安排
所有因天氣情況而取消之課堂，將稍後安排補堂。

12. 比賽形式
影片拍攝：

• 參賽者需在最後一堂課完成表演影片拍攝。
• 影片拍攝由主辦單位安排專業人員進行，確保畫質和音效符合評審要求。
• 參賽者需事先準備好服裝、音樂和動作編排。

頒獎典禮：

• 在頒獎典禮當天播放參賽者視頻，並現場宣布賽果。
• 頒獎典禮將邀請所有參賽者及家長出席。

MOP Little Mermaid Contest - FAQs

1. What is mermaiding, and how is it different from swimming?  
Mermaiding involves wearing a monofin and a vibrant mermaid tail while propelling through water with rhythmic body movements, unlike freediving, which relies on powerful kicks. Mermaiding combines athleticism with graceful underwater dance, focusing on elegance and smooth lines rather than speed or depth. It's a magical escape from daily stress to enjoy the enchanting underwater world. 

2. Who can join the MOP mermaid courses?  
Age groups:  
  - Group A: 4-5 years  
  - Group B: 6-8 years  
  - Group C: 9-12 years  

3. Do I need swimming or diving experience to join the courses?  
No prior swimming experience is needed. The course is beginner-friendly, with instructors providing professional water safety guidance and tools to help children adapt to the water. Parents may also consider enrolling their children inour swimming classes to further enhance their skills. 

4. Are mermaid tails included in the course fees?  
Monofins and mermaid tails are included in the training program. Mermaid equipment can also be purchased separately for the purpose of competition. 

5. Do I need to open my eyes underwater during the training?  
Goggles are required during the training to help focus on underwater movements, but it is optional during the contest. Fear of opening eyes underwater is common but often psychological. We guide participants to overcome this gradually.  

6. Is photography service included during the training?  
Photographs and videos will be taken during the contest.

7. Is the class held indoors or outdoors?  
The MOP Mermaid Aquarium is an indoor facility equipped with filtration and thermal control systems (~30°C) to ensure warm and clean water. 

8. What should I prepare for the training?  
Please bring your own swimsuit, towel, and goggles. Rental goggles/swim masks are available on-site. The MOP Mermaid Aquarium also provides showers, shampoo/body wash, restrooms, and hairdryers. 

9. Do you sell mermaid tails?  
Currently, we only offer mermaid tail ordering services. Feel free to contact us via Facebook/Instagram to discuss designs and prices.

10. What if I can't attend a class due to personal reasons? Can I get a refund?  
Once an application is accepted, tuition fees are non-refundable. Participants are allowed one free reschedule for every five sessions, provided a reason for absence is communicated at least 7 days in advance. Late rescheduling (within 7 days) incurs a $600 administrative fee. Exceptions include:  

  a) Illness (notify at least 4 hours in advance with a doctor's note).  
  b) Bereavement (no documentation required).  

11. Weather Policy   
Classes canceled due to extreme weather will be rescheduled later. 

12. Competition Format
Video Recording:

• Contestants must complete their performance video recording during the final class session.  
• The video will be recorded by mermaid instructors arranged by MOP to ensure quality standards for visuals and audio meet the judging criteria. 
• Contestants are required to prepare their own costumes, music, and choreography in advance.  

Awards Ceremony:

• Contestant videos will be showcased at the awards ceremony, held at the Central Harbourfront Event Space during the Mermazing Summer Splash. Results will be announced on-site.  
• All contestants and their parents are invited to attend the awards ceremony.
